Quality Data Analyst - Tulsa Manufacturing

Functional Overview

Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Analyst, Engineering within the Plant Quality organization reporting directly to the Quality Management System Leader. The position is located at our Tulsa, OK. The primary function of this role is to analyze data from our corporate systems to create and update weekly and monthly reports from our internal and external quality metrics. Maintain and create dashboards to manage our quality metrics and provide claim data analysis to calculate benefit / savings for Quality improvement projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other support functions (Safety, Operations, Materials, Engineering, Human Resources) to collect and interpret performance data in order to drive quality
  • Calculate and monitor various quality metrics to ensure plant knowledge, accountability, and delivery of commitments
  • Lead recoding activity through ensuring consistency of data and driving improvement of received Service Incident Rate (SIR) data
  • Participate actively in regular operations and supplier reviews to ensure that supplier quality performance is properly reflected, understood, and receives appropriate responsiveness and support for improvement
  • Ensure that job responsibilities are timely and accurately carried out and nurture a high level of teamwork and performance
  • Retrieve data from multiple sources and be able to present analyses in form of charts, graphs, heat maps, among other formats
  • Track First Pass Yield (FPY) issues to identify and highlight top Issues
  • Manage Customer Assurance Lab (CAL - final line audit) failure report system
  • Identify external emerging issues from our Early Warning system
  • Manage multiple tasks and provide frequent oral/written communication to supervisor or related departments
  • Demonstrate leadership through the development of lean activities to help drive both daily work and long-term improvements
  • Responsible for day-to-day quality activities supporting Whirlpool s implementation of the industry leading World Class Manufacturing initiative (WCM)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science or Engineering
  • 1
    years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1
    years of experience with statistics and data analysis

Preferred Requirements

  • Master s Degree in Applied Science or Engineering
  • Experience in working on Excel (V-lookup, Pivot Table, Advanced Formulae, Macros), Google Spreadsheets, Google Data Studio, Google Apps, Tableau and others
  • Knowledge of SQL databases, should be able to write queries (SELECT, JOIN, Window functions, Aggregate Functions)
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM) experience
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or CQE certification
  • 5
    years experience in Quality role in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 Why, Kaizen, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to interact as a lead player, apply critical thinking, make decisions, and conflict resolution
  • Dynamic self-starter with ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, global team members, and the supply base
  • Skilled to lead and manage multiple quality projects with minimum supervision
  • Experience managing multiple assignments concurrently
  • Value diversity of ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment
