This technical sales position will allow you to help companies both small and large in a vast number of industries with the newest technology in automation. You will work with the local team to provide solutions to complex problems and manage customers so that they can successfully deploy this technology. Product Technologies include:
Motion Control, Robotics, Sensors/Conveyors, Safety, Industrial Networking, Vision and ID.
A key part of this position is to create strong partnerships both with these customers and our technology suppliers.

Duties/
Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer relationship
  • Onsite and in-office customer application consulting; this includes sizing and selecting products and creating a full bill of materials for the client to purchase
  • Perform all steps of the sales cycle from investigation of new clients, assessing needs, quoting, getting the order, and managing technical support
  • The outside sales engineer must interface with key suppliers and act as an advocate for the customer in the applications process, the quoting process, the post-sales support process, and the returns and repair process when necessary
  • Utilize the CRM to manage your opportunities and provide management data
  • Manage the pre-sale and post-sale technical support needs of the customer by providing direct technical support, managing the work of the shared applications engineers, and managing our supplier technical support resources
  • The outside sales engineer must develop and execute strategies for key target and existing accounts, by scheduling visits with potential clients, lead follow-up, performing on site product demos and training, and getting suppliers involved when necessary
  • Assist with trade shows and other marketing events
  • Assist with customer training and Olympus or supplier sponsored seminars
  • Assist with supplier management activities when required; primarily by attending supplier events and performing joint sales calls
  • Provide referrals to integrators and build those relationships
  • Respond to customer complaints and quality issues

Qualifications/
Experience:

  • 50 hours/week is the standard for a successful sales engineer
  • Travel to customer sites within your assigned territory
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Out of region travel required for training; up to 8 weeks in the first year depending on existing knowledge, and typically 1 week per year thereafter
  • You must supply a dedicated office space within your place of residence as well as provide a vehicle suitable to daily travel to customer sites and hosting suppliers on joint customer visits

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
