Functional Overview

Whirlpool is looking for qualified candidates for the role of Senior Industrial Engineer.
The role will be at our Tulsa, OK plant location.
In this role you will be responsible for leading and driving change through the implementation of the World Class Manufacturing tools to solve problems and make improvements throughout the Tulsa manufacturing plant.
This role will lead all activities associated with labor utilization for operational areas assigned.
Using strong data analysis, this position will own costing and projects regarding continuous improvement, as well as, the efficient use of the plant's human resources.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain labor router/standards for profit planning process, cost reduction opportunities, and day-to-day activities
  • Lead ergonomic studies and lean activities to determine safety and cost reduction opportunities
  • Lead cost studies to determine best product flow in the plant and product features
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to provide insight into how to minimize labor requirements and determine assembly sequence
  • Strong data analytical skills
  • Provide ways/methods to eliminate all types of waste in the production process
  • Ensure new models/parts efficiently integrate into operations
  • Own all line balances and labor utilization for operational areas assigned
  • Drive continuous improvement through detailed analytics
  • Support WCM implementation by providing leadership to continuous improvement group
  • Drive operations to achieving short/long term labor productivity targets
  • Lead and manage multiple Kaizens of various complexities with minimal oversight

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 4
    years of industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering experience
  • 2
    years of experience in Project Management

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree in in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical engineering
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the use of advanced manufacturing techniques
  • Well-developed communications, conflict management, coaching, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Strong background in World Class Manufacturing (WCM).
  • Strong knowledge of Modular Arrangement of Predetermined Time Standards ( MODAPTS), Proplanner tools, Autocad
  • Certifications in areas of Agile, Six Sigma, Project Management
  • Proven success driving lean principles and philosophies
  • Proven ability to improve operations within established production systems
  • Drive initiatives to support change in the plant
  • Competent on PC and mainframe systems related to responsibilities
  • Creative problem-solving techniques and ability to accomplish tasks and objectives
  • Outstanding organization, communication, and leadership skills
  • Understanding of factory costs and good financial acumen
