Experience: For the GS-07 Level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing basic engineering computations or calculations; OR 2) Reporting on engineering project results. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement: GS-07 Level: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). For the GS-09 level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing analysis, calculations or computations using established engineering processes; AND 2) Creating engineering reports, fact sheets or briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Time in Grade Requirement: GS-09 Level: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). For the GS-11 level::One year of specialized experience which includes performing at least 2 out of the following 3 duties: 1) Performing studies related to water supply or other hydraulic/hydrologic engineering concepts; OR 2) Evaluating engineering plans or designs to determine benefits; OR 3) Using software to develop hydraulic or hydrologic computer models. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Time in Grade Requirement: GS-11 Level: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). For the GS-12 level: One year of specialized experience which includes performing at least 2 out of the following 3 duties: 1) Forecasting river flow based on hydraulic and hydrologic engineering theories, principles or practices; OR 2) Monitoring land encroachment, easement flowage or project land requirements; OR 3) Utilizing hydrologic computer software to forecast floods or water flow reporting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: GS-12 Level: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Hydraulic EngineeringOral CommunicationTechnical Competence Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted at the GS-12 level. In addition to meeting the specialized experience above, to qualify for this position you must meet the education requirements listed below:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
