COVID-19 Temporary Position Not to Exceed 04-01-2021 This position is directly involved in triaging walk ins, managing and care coordination of a robust panel of assigned patients, reviewing and monitoring lab results, medications, and hospital discharge/ER telephone follow ups. Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned patients while developing technical competencies Completes initial assessments and reassessments of assigned patients as directed Completes plan of care for patients and updates plan of care based on assessments Administers medications in a safe and efficient manner following established policies Inserts and manages peripheral intravenous access Manages central venous access sites, infusion of continuous fluids and administers IV push medications under direct supervision of preceptor Completes admission and discharge of patients/residents in accordance with established unit policies Provides patient education and documents the same, reinforcing physician education Accurately receives and verifies physician orders Follows instructions provided by charge nurse, nurse manager/assistant nurse manager, physician or other supervisory personnel Additional duties may be assigned as appropriate by supervisory personnel Work Schedule:

The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. Work is performed primarily in a patient care setting; adequately lighted, temperature controlled, and ventilated. Office temperatures fluctuate periodically; involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as clinics, offices, meeting and training rooms or libraries; exposure to noise and dust on occasion. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
