Some of the duties assigned include, but are not limited to:
The incumbent will manage the administrative and clinical aspects of several National initiatives, providing leadership, budgetary oversight, and programmatic management to:
POST 9/11/Transition Care Team, Caregiver Support Program, and Traumatic Brain Injury/Spinal Cord Injury, in consultation with those supervised staff in assigned those programs. The incumbent will have responsibility for coordinating interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services provided, and admission criteria of the programs. Incumbent will provide direct supervision to various social workers, program leads, and support staff for these programs as well as have collateral administrative responsibilities for all staff assigned to these programs. Develops a system to identify Post 9/11 patients served by the facility and those in the catchment area not currently seen. Serves as the facility, particularly the Quadrad, point of contact for all inquiries regarding seamless transition of Post 9/11 Veterans and as point of contact for POST 9/11 service members and Veterans seeking health care from the facility. Ensures that all Post 9/11 service members and Veterans are screened for the need for care management services and that those in need of nurse and/or Social Work Case Managers are assigned accordingly, particularly those who are severely injured or ill. Coordinates psychosocial evaluation, assessment, and periodic reassessments of Post 9/11 patients served, which provides a comprehensive database to identify psychological, social, and vocational needs and the appropriate treatment and services to be provided. Coordinates provision of individual and family treatment and support services provided to Post 9/11 service members and Veterans. Advocates on behalf of the Post 9/11 service member and/or Veteran to ensure that services and benefits are obtained in a timely manner and in keeping with the VA's goal for excellence in customer service. Manages, coordinates, and is accountable for the provision and overall effectiveness of care management, family support services, and referrals for prosthetic appliances and home equipment for Post 9/11 service members and/or Veterans. Works collaboratively with staff at Vet Centers and the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Regional Office. Maintains a current network of referral resources to include substance abuse treatment, outpatient medical and/or psychiatric care, vocational rehabilitation, VSOs, Stakeholders, and Staff Education. Provides consultation to other staff on the special needs and Post 9/11 service members and Veterans. Provides education to Post 9/11 service members and Veterans on VHA health care services available at the facility and about services available within the VISN and in the local community. Have a master's degree in social work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Licensure:
Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Current state requirements may be found on the OHRM website. English Language Proficiency:
Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Experience, Education and Licensure:
Individuals assigned as Supervisory Social Workers must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for subordinate staff to qualify for licensure. Their experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills in a specialty area or in administration demonstrating progressively more professional competency and judgment. They may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the professional KSAs below:
(a) Skill in coordinating and implementing one or more specialty program(s), across the facility. (b) Skill in local policy and practice development, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program as prescribed by the program handbook or national directive. (c) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). (d) Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to further program goals and enhance patient centered care. (e) Ability to provide the full range of supervisory duties including assignment of work to be performed; performance evaluations; and selection of staff, training, and recommendation of awards, advancements, and when appropriate, disciplinary action. (f) Ability to oversee the fiscal matters of the functions supervised (including fund controls, contracts, and equipment expenditures), forecast resource and equipment needs, and administer the allocated budget. (g) Knowledge of organizational structure and impact on program operations. References:

Light lifting (under 15 pounds), straight pulling, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking, standing, near vision correctable at 13 to 16, Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other, hearing (aid permitted), emotional/mental stability and read written material. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
