Overview
Manage a staff of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineers in an Aerospace manufacturing facility.
Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Designs manufacturing processess, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, and material handling. Provide strategic coordination and leadership through Six SAigma methodology and Lean Manufacturing best practices.
Responsibilities
May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities. Designs arrangement of equipment and sequence of operations, and specifies procedures for the production of aerostruture assemblies. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into trhe production plan. Investigates and initiates corrective action to ensure product quality. direct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control and production record systems.
Manage the organizational budget and plan headcount. Conduct presentations to senior management. While using strong communication skills and proven leadership skills, interface with all levels of employees, customers, and senior management.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will typically have a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Production Management plus 10 years in Aerospace/aircraft maufacturing. Masters degree would be a plus.
