Senior SCADA Developer/Analyst

What is the position?
The Senior SCADA Developer/Analyst coordinates, develops, and/or maintains Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system applications.
What will you do?
As a Senior SCADA Developer/Analyst you will:
Analyze and develop SCADA system structures for new applications and/or modifications for existing systems.
Design, document, and maintain SCADA system specifications, record/screen layouts, communication circuits, and/or databases.
Establish and conduct testing criteria on system integration for new and/or modified SCADA system procedures to ensure program accuracy and effectiveness.
Provide information and assistance to system users, vendors, employees and others relative to system development, design, and/or modification, hardware and software requirements and problem resolution. Maintain positive customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
Compile and prepare reports including system logs, meter and gas composition reports, budget, letters to vendors, memorandums, and training outlines and manuals.
Identify, recommend and implement areas for improvement
Collaborate with key process owners on documentation of application defects, enhancements and/or projects.
Lead design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions as prioritized by the business including creating/updating system documentation and training materials.
Lead design of reliable and scalable solutions according to standards and best practices to support user requirements.
Lead gathering and documenting of business requirements to determine capabilities to be delivered. Consult with users on priorities, complexities and other impacts of the requirements. Provide time and cost estimates for proposed changes resulting from the requirements.
Identify opportunities to deploy existing solutions in other business areas.
Coordinate and communicate development activities with other team members, infrastructure personnel, vendors, and management.
Lead small projects through entire system development life cycle.
Follow defined change control and compliance procedures associated with software development, including all required documentation and governance standards.
Interact with business users via consulting and training to ensure effective use of technology solutions.
What are the requirements?
Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, mathematics, or other related field and at least 5 years with direct SCADA experience.
Additional industry experience may be considered in absence of a degree.
Experience with multiple development languages and/or platforms.
Experience in software development and programming concepts/techniques.
Experience with SCADA system software and hardware and use and function of other office and computer equipment applicable to position.
Experience designing, developing, modifying, and installing computer system applications.
Strong experience in multiple disciplines including but not limited to:
Application of math, algebra, and statistical formulas.
Natural gas or natural gas liquids SCADA system operations
Project management
Communication protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus variations, Fisher ROC, OPC)
Communication infrastructure (Serial to TCP/IP terminal servers, routers, switches, cellular modems, licensed and spread spectrum radios, VSAT)
Instrumentation (PLCs, flow computers)
Databases (SQL, Oracle, Access)
Operating Systems (Windows, Unix, Linux)
Hardware (Alpha, Intel)
Historical data archivers (OSISoft PI, UCOS PHA)
SCADA software (CSI UCOS)
Experience with industry related standards related to SCADA systems including API 1165 and Control Room Management.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, computer printouts, system requirements and programs, contracts, manuals, policies, and procedures.
Experience preparing and composing file, record, and screen layouts, reports, project proposals, training outlines, manuals, procedures, and correspondence.
Experience interacting, advising, guiding, training and communicating effectively.
Experience developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations.
Experience directing and training other project members.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
