How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Inspector position. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will ensure that the products manufactured within the division and all materials received from outside divisions meet or exceed quality requirements of the customer and Valmont. Additionally, you will
Ensure correct assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks and visual inspection of welds
Conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) by ultrasonic, magnetic particle equipment, and dye penetrant equipment
Interpret reports for NDT and pass or reject materials according to quality acceptance
Record testing and inspection information on the required inspections sheets, production cards, and computer reports
Have the authority to reject material or stop work processes to minimize financial loss and risk of customer dissatisfaction
What it takes
Required Qualifications
The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
The ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, thread gauges, micrometer, protractor, and dial calipers
The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
The ability to stand up to 95% of the shift
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two years of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
The ability to work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors
The ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines
The ability to identify and communicate maintenance or product problems to departmental supervision
The ability to work effectively and efficiently with plant employees, supervisors, management, and customers
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
