_WHO WILL BE CONSIDERED:_ This position is only open to current members of the Oklahoma Air National Guard assigned to the 138th SFS.
Relocation allowances will not be paid due to the lack of funds
_NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED:_ This is an excepted position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Oklahoma Air National Guard and the wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
_MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:_ Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Military Grades Available E3-E6.
Must currently be a member of the OKANG/138TH SFS. United States Citizenship is required. Direct Deposit is mandatory. Individuals on incentive bonuses may be subject to recoupment.
This position is located in an Air National Guard Wing, Mission Support Group, Security Forces Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to protect Federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire and accident or willful damage and destruction. To maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installation.
_GENERAL
Experience:_ Understanding of the basic principles and concepts of military security forces functions, laws, policies, regulations, rules, procedures, and methods. Also, have general experience performing functions such as weapon systems and resource security, air base defense, law enforcement; and, if applicable for the position, experience in handling military working dog functions or combat arms functions.
SPECIALIZED
Experience: An applicant's experience will be graded based on the amount of experience they exemplify in their current and previous positions held that are relevant to the position announced.The application must reflect 9 months experience performing and enforcing the full range of security forces duties within a military installation.Experience apprehending and detaining violators of laws, rules, and regulations.Experience at fixed posts or patrolling in installation on foot or vehicle, responding to alarms, irregularities and unusual or suspicious circumstances.Experience with Security Forces Dispatcher duties, dispatching personnel and equipment to meet emergency situations.Experience with Base Entry Controller and commercial vehicle inspection duties. Experience defending personnel, equipment, and resources from hostile attack.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's): In the event there are more than 10 certified applicants, the following KSA's will be used to determine the best qualified applicants from which selection will be made.
1. 1. Knowledge of the full range of security forces, and police and law enforcement services which requires considerable training, experience, and proficiency to perform the full range of operations in preventing or resolving offenses.
2. 3. 2. Knowledge of standardized federal laws, regulations, methods, procedures, operating techniques, Air Force instructions, state, and local laws to perform tasks including, but not limited to, pursuing and apprehending persons fleeing a crime scene; performing dispatcher duties involving passing of directions and information to officers on posting assignments; seeking, detecting, and protecting evidence and witness at the scene of an accident; and detaining witnesses and suspects.
4. 5. 3. Knowledge of investigative techniques to adequately handle complaints and incidents which may entail performing initial investigative actions prior to transferring situation authority to other investigators.
6. 7. 4. Knowledge of security and security forces requirements, procedures and tactics to support installation physical security and contingency operations.
8. 9. 5. Knowledge of firearms and tactics utilized in emergency situations.
10. 11. 6. Knowledge of alarm and electronic monitoring system operations and how to interpret signals and other outputs.
12. 13. 7. Knowledge of emergency services, tactics, and procedures to include, weapons and chemical agents, negotiations, building layouts, terrorist threats and counter terrorism methods, search and rescue techniques, crowd and demonstration control, etc.
14. 15. 8. Ability to use firearms in emergency situations.
16. 17. 9. Ability to gather facts and use effective, analytical, and established methods to accurately assess a situation and determine the appropriate course of action.

_SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED
Experience:_ A maximum of 6 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.
