The employee in this position serves as the Project Leader for the Oklahoma Ecological Services Field Office, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Southwest Region in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

U.S. Citizenship Required Background Investigation One-year supervisory probation period
As Project Leader, serves as a key participant in the Service's role of conserving species and habitats.
Reports and recommendations consider potential socioeconomic benefits as well as the conservation and enhancement of trust resources.
Oversees and directs all phases of operation and all programs delivered by the Field Office.
Leads and participates in Strategic Habitat Conservation initiatives.
Meets with members of Congress; Federal, State, local, and Tribal representatives; concerned citizens; and industry and public interest groups to share information, gain support, and resolve conflicts concerning Service activities and positions.

Basic
Qualifications:
A. A Bachelors or higher degree from an accredited college or university in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR
B. A combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional education. OR
C. Four years experience that demonstrated knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4-year course of study in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
In addition to meeting the basic qualifications listed above, applicants must also meet the following in order to qualify for this GS-0480-14 position:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service. For example: Experience directing policy and staff functions, developing short and long-range plans and formulating and implementing policies, standards and procedures for a regional or national program; supervising staff work on programmatic issues, and advising management concerning controversial and complex issues.

_Physical Demands and Work Environment:_
The work requires considerable and sometimes vigorous travel to numerous meetings with Service offices and to meetings, national in scope, located in various places throughout the nation. The work is largely sedentary while at duty station, however, the job does require intermittent physical exertion such as walking over rough or rocky terrain while inspecting field operations, but it is not on a sustained or regular basis.
Work is generally performed in an office setting; there is occasional exposure to discomfort or risk is encounteredon field trips such as extreme heat or cold.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
