TRAUMA DATA SPECIALIST
The Trauma Data Specialist is primarily responsible for medical record data abstraction and maintenance of the Trauma Registry. The data will be obtained from Trauma Services activity, logs, computer databases and the medical record in both it's paper and electronic forms. The Trauma Data Specialist also assists in data collection and collation for research, epidemiology and quality improvement activities.
Education/
Experience: High school diploma. Completion of medical terminology course required. ICD-9/10 training preferred. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in registry with a basic knowledge of the system.
Knowledge/Skills: ICD 9 coding skills. Advanced medical terminology knowledge. Computer application skills. Good customer service skills for both internal and external customers. Excellent cognitive, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
