Join us as a Information Security Engineer
Information Security Engineer is responsible for the development, design, and implementation of information security systems. Though the person will be a member of the Information Security team, he/she will work with various functional areas to define, document, and implement security strategies, architectures, and procedures. This position will assess and verify that systems are appropriately protected from internal and external threats, while enabling the organization to work effectively and productively.
Design, configure, deploy, and manage security infrastructure including: VPN, firewall, application firewall, IPS and IDS systems, vulnerability assessment systems, multi-factor / strong authentication technologies, RADIUS/TACACS
servers, proxy servers, URL filtering, and logging servers
Perform security assessments for: Applications, Web Applications, Unix Systems, Windows Systems, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls
Identify vulnerabilities and reduce risk by analyzing processes, network designs, and software designs. This includes existing security services and controls.
Manage security initiatives from design to implementation utilizing new technologies with minimal impact to production environment
Responsible for maintenance, monitoring, capacity planning, and 7x24 support of security systems and security related issues.
Assists in the preventive monitoring of potential information security threats, investigation of alleged information security breaches and, if necessary, drives appropriate response to the breach
Utilize industry best practices, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements to recommend and/or design security controls and processes to mitigate risk.
Provide in-depth support for information security incidents including internal violations, malicious attacks, malware/virus/trojan and system outages. Assist with the investigation of security breaches, policy violations, and other security incidents
Develop and implement strategies that balance security recommendations with business needs
Collaborates with personnel across the organization to ensure appropriate risk levels are identified for information assets
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in computer science or related degree and 5-7 years experience technical security related and extensive background in supporting information security systems or 10-12 years equivalent work related experience.
Experience with firewalls, application firewalls, IPS/IDS systems, DLP, Web Content Filtering, and VPN systems
Verbal and written communications and presentation skills. Must have the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management in both formal and informal situations.
Administrative and security expertise with all versions of Windows and Windows Server and Unix variants
Advance LAN network experience including design, troubleshooting, and security
System administration experience in a production environment
Experience in assessing designs related to networks, operating systems, and applications
Experience with assessing risk related to networks, operating systems, and applications
