Dell has acquired StatSoft, a leading provider of advanced analytics solutions that deliver a wide range of data mining, predictive analytics, and data visualization capabilities. StatSoft provides a complementary solution to Dell's existing portfolio of database management, data integration, data replication, and analytic offerings to create a stronger information management portfolio that specifically addresses predictive analysis.
We are looking for a sharp individual to join our dynamic Software QA Team. We are responsible for design, development and test execution activities associated with industry standard Software Quality Assurance (SQA) processes. Accountable for ensuring the StatSoft software products meet or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.
Principal Accountabilities:
Routinely performs numeric validation of analytical modules using manual calculations and working knowledge of statistical software packages.
Develops code to create automated scripts for regression, scalability and load tests.
Employs knowledge of database operations and Web browser configurations to test and verify data I/O exchanges between databases and components of the STATISTICA product line.
Designs, maintains and executes test cases that are based on system requirements, performs exploratory tests, logs defects, and retests software resolutions to ensure proper implementation of system requirements and seamless integration of the functionality within our entire software package.
Evaluates reported issues, trouble-shoots installation and configuration issues, and performs a wide range of integration tests to help resolve customer reported issues and ensure compatability with various operating systems, web browsers, databases and versions of specific commercial software packages.
Drives continual process improvements in the evolution of testing procedures for future replication.
Qualifications
Understanding of advance statistics (more than descriptive stats)
Ability to write code (at least VB)
Rationally design and perform exploratory tests
Employ a working knowledge of quality test cases
Knowledge of automation tools for testing interfaces and interacting with the object model
Have a working understanding of
database operations (particularly Oracle DB installations, configurations, interactions and queries),
computer management knowledge
Internet functionality (e.g. IIS settings)
event logs
permission sets
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of competitor software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS)
Knowledge of performance/load tests
Background in mobile device testing
