Lead the Sulzer proposal process and communicate to all relevant stakeholders.
Ensure proposals are performed in accordance with Sulzer design guides, standards, and tools.
Initiate the proposal kick-off meetings at the beginning of the proposal process to ensure scope and requirements of ITB is well understood by the team, finalized sales strategy to win, with deadlines.
Ensure no work is done without a firm design basis and sales strategy.
Screen customer inquiries and requests for quotation to ensure they are in line with Sulzer capabilities and contain all information required to submit a quotation.
Liaise with sales / customers to obtain any missing information.
Lead the efforts to qualify the inquiry technically by coordinating with relevant engineering discipline, project management, and / or overseas offices as required.
Provide feedback to Sales.
Ensure process concept approval is established, followed by design of process / equipment such as distillation column, reboiler, condensers, etc.
, and stagewise approval taken to close the process / equipment design.
Ensure proposals are prepared with a cost workbook that includes internal and external costs.
Partner with procurement to receive quotes from 3rd party suppliers.
Lead clarification and negotiation process with 3rd party suppliers in collaboration with internal team.
Review and confirm compliance to ITB and customer requirements.
Ensure acceptance or deviations are confirmed with relevant stakeholders and comply with the cost calculation workbook.
Lead the review of formal ITBs, assign all support tasks, and expedite the required workstreams to conclusion in support of client deadlines.
Ensure proposals with guarantees have appropriate sign-off from the respective Head per delegation of authority.
Initiate technical Risk assessment workshop / meeting to complete the quote issue process.
Keep track of proposals sent in the Quote Tracker.
Coordinate with department managers to ensure appropriate proposal staffing.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
ALTERNATE REQUIREMENTS:
Seven (7) years of experience as Sales Engineer or related position.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The required seven (7) years of experience as Sales Engineer or related position must have included experience with static mixers and liquid-liquid extraction and process engineering, proposal and cost workbook development, North America sourcing and supplier negotiations, and cost estimation for distillation technology-based systems for Skid mounted process plants.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Up to 10% domestic travel required.
