Summary:
We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join VOAOK.
The HR Generalist will assist and support all the functions of the Human Resources Department including, but not limited to recruiting, employment, orientation, training, benefits, employee relations, compensation and compliance with all applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.
Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
Representatives of the Human Resources Department are scrutinized by the entire workforce and therefore held to a higher standard of professional performance and conduct.
The HR Generalist will dress in business casual attire.
Dress may be relaxed on Fridays to include jeans that are not torn and frayed.
Shorts are not authorized at any time.
T-shirts may be worn on Friday if the shirt is considered VOA logo wear.
HR Generalists will represent the Code of Ethics, Critical Success Factors, and Professional Expectations of All at all times.
Will maintain strict confidentiality of all activities within the HR and other organizational departments.
Confidentiality includes, but is not limited to:
Pay information, personnel issues, sensitive information disclosed in meetings, pending policy or procedure changes that have not been announced, disciplinary information, information regarding any investigation, etc.
Violation of departmental confidentiality could result in immediate termination.
Will maintain office areas in immaculate condition.
Will complete assigned work within established deadlines.
Serve as liaison for recruiting efforts to include attending/hosting job fairs and managing the employment process.
Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.
Responsible for maintaining all personnel files in auditable fashion.
These files include, but are not limited to:
Personnel, training, and benefits.
Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
Maintain accurate electronic company records and reports.
The HR Generalist is required to create custom reports and maintain the data as up to date and auditable at all times.
Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
Represents management in investigating, answering, and settling grievances, by arranging and scheduling meetings with employees, supervisors and the appropriate leadership team.
Responsible for maintaining all external data updates (provider reporting, etc.
).
Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
Ensure compliance with all outside governing agencies.
Schedule and enroll employees in on-site training classes.
Maintain a current job description database.
Conduct comparable analysis on Human Resources best practice and benchmarks.
Administer various employee benefit programs.
Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
Audit invoices to ensure accurate billing for benefits, training, etc.
Maintain the departmental standard operating procedures and recommend changes when required.
Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
Process garnishment of wages requests and employment verifications.
Provide coverage as scheduled for the corporate Receptionist (Tulsa office only).
Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
Perform other, job-related, duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
Qualifications:
Competent user of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Must be an advanced user of MS Excel (formulas, formatting, pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, subtotals, auto filters, etc.
).
Strong analytical skills.
Attention to Detail.
Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
The ability to research and analyze various types of data information.
Must have the ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, persons from other departments and vendors.
Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to share information through coaching teaching and training.
Ability to maintain accurate records and present data contained in those records in a timely manner.
Good understanding of all Departments within the organization.
Ability to handle sensitive issues while protecting others' welfare.
Ability to exercise patience, understanding, creativity, and flexibility.
Knowledge of Human Resource principles and practices.
Must have and maintain a working telephone contact number.
Possess a valid Social Security Card.
Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
Have reliable transportation.
Proof of current auto liability insurance (your name must be on the policy).
Maintain an acceptable driving record, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation criminal history checks, and Community Service Registry Record checks.
Experience:
Basic Human Resources experience required.
Experience with companies that provide supports to persons with developmental disabilities and/or not-for-profit organizational environments preferred.
Payroll experience preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management and/or related field or equivalent work experience as determined by the Human Resources Manager and/or CEO is required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
