The UPC Owasso Lab is currently looking for a member to join our team!Want to make a difference?ResponsibilitiesThe Laboratory Technician collects, processes, and accurately tests patient specimens, providing results in a timely manner.
This individual may be responsible for quality control testing per documented protocol, proper maintenance of laboratory equipment, and some x-rays.
The Lab Tech should be able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance, and document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
Demonstrates ability to collect venous, capillary and urine specimens and label them appropriately.
Demonstrates competency when operating CBC analyzers (specimens, quality control, maintenance, etc).
Demonstrates competency when running all immunology testing (i.
e:
mono, strep A, hCG) Demonstrates ability to perform urinalysis testing including identification of microscopic elements.
Completes all paperwork correctly and files in appropriate place.
Demonstrates ability to send specimens to our reference lab, including collection of appropriate specimen, completion of required paperwork and preparation of specimen for shipment.
Demonstrates compliance with all safety regulations.
Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance, and document all corrective actions taken.
Provides results in a timely manner.
Shows responsibility for quality control testing per documented protocol, proper maintenance of laboratory equipment, and some x-rays.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED BLS Certification Recommended Skills Basic Life Support Maintenance Quality Management Safety Principles Radiology Patient Safety Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
