4 South is a fast-paced unit that treats post-surgical spine and orthopedic intervention patients daily.
A typical day on this unit could include:
activating drains, reinfusing autologous blood and focusing on pain management.
The most engaging part about 4 South is the teamwork.
As a unit, the nurses, techs, therapist and physicians all work very closely together to make the patients their number one focus.
ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do Provide nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
Deliver basic medical and personal care to patients.
Ensure the wellbeing of patients while assisting with their daily tasks.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Adhere to the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act Follow all organization, state and federal mandated medical standards and procedures Ensure patient confidentiality by following HIPAA rules and regulations Monitor and record vital signs and daily activities Report pertinent changes in patient's condition to nurse or physician Assist patient with everyday needs Assist nursing staff in administering basic treatments Ensure rooms have adequate patient care supplies Transport patients to and from various destinations Counsel, listen and educate patients and families on health concerns, questions or suggestions Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Qualifications What You'll Bring High school diploma or GED Basic Life Support Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally Ability to follow oral and written directions Knowledge of patient assistance and care procedures Knowledge of basic methods of personal hygiene Committed to health and safety standards Ability to apply basic nursing techniques Understanding of medical terminology Empathetic and approachable Demonstrate a personal interest in the health and wellbeing of others Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations Recommended Skills Basic Life Support Certified Nurse Practitioner Communication Friendliness Hardworking And Dedicated Health Care Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
