Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting in all areas of daily operations of AXEL's grease manufacturing plant.
Specifically, this is a hands-on supervisor who oversees grease production and packaging employees; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
This position must maintain the highest standard of quality, integrity and safety in all areas of production from manufacturing to shipping.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership and direction to the plant production team members in areas of safety, machine operation, sanitation, quality, customer service and maintenance.
Maintain a clear understanding of company expectations for accuracy, quality and timelessness and develop methods for meeting or exceeding those expectations.
Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Ensure that quality standards are maintained and continually improved upon.
Implement continuous improvement processes that increase productivity and reduce production costs.
Ensure the preventative maintenance program is implemented throughout the facility, including manufacturing equipment and warehouse equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the plant with a high standard on housekeeping.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Experience and Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal Leadership:
a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Supervision, including employee hiring and retention, performance review and discipline.
An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and employee relations.
Problem analysis and resolution.
Strong team player.
Strong hands on mechanical aptitude.
EDUCATION &
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field or five years plant/general supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
A minimum of two (2) years of direct supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, including filled pails or cases and mechanical handling of filled drums Must be capable of working overtime with little notice, as needed Related keywords:
