Responsibilities but may not be limited to the following:
The Billing TEAM Lead / Medical Billing Specialist will provide support to all departments, including outside billing services, performing a variety of duties as needed.
Must be flexible.
This will include, but is not limited to:
Provide leadership and support to billing team, including billing follow up for Private and Private / Medicare / Medicaid Claims.
Provide expertise and guidance where needed to bring overall Insurance aging percentage down.
Responsible for follow up of all claims - Private, Medicare, and Medicaid Insurance Assists in departmental daily, weekly, monthly performance goals and tracking Verifies all Medicare and Medicaid insurance information and checks each claim for accuracy and correctness of charges Makes necessary process improvement changes by working and collaborating with other departments companywide Bills secondary insurances by collecting the proper Explanation of Benefits and resending to proper insurance company on 1500 Claim Forms Bills electronically all claims that are eligible Bills hard copy all claims that are not eligible for Electronic remittance Daily reports to follow up on all Medicare, Medicaid, and Secondary insurance claims within 45-day period Calls Clients, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance companies, to check the status of accounts and when to expect payment Makes all Medicare and Medicaid corrections on appropriate online systems Responds to requests for medical documentation in a timely manner Sends in appeals when appropriate for Clients Makes adjustments when necessary to all Medicare and Medicaid claims Consistently works the Medicaid Reject remittance for the corrections of these claims and possible resubmission Responsible To:

Qualifications:
College Degree is not required, but commensurate level experience in Complex Rehab Technology medical billing is required.
1-2 years verifiable management / supervisory experience over medical billing staff or medical billing department.
Posses 3-5 years verifiable experience in Complex Rehab Technology medical billing to Private Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid; Experience billing Complex Rehab Technology is required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience submitting authorizations and claims for Complex Rehab Technology Knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare LCD, HCPCS, and diagnosis codes required.
Strong written and oral communication skills including strong phone acumen to effectively communicate across diverse populations including patients, parents/caretakers and healthcare professionals.
Strong proficiency in using a computer and computer applications including Adobe Acrobat, creating/editing Word documents and/or Excel spreadsheets, conducting research using the internet, using templates, working in a company-created database and using Outlook (email/calendar functions).
Ability to learn and retain the specific criteria and requirements for different insurance plans.

Requirements:
Qualifications Physical:
In an average 8-hour day the employee lifts or carries up to 15 pounds frequently.
In an average 8-hour day the employee stands or walks 4 hours.
In an average 8-hour day the employee sits 4 hours.
(These hours include up to 4 hours of data entry and phone work.
) In an average 8-hour day the employee drives 0 hours.
The employee lifts or carries up to 25 pounds maximum.
Must be clean and neat in personal appearance.
Education:
College Degree is not required, but commensurate level experience in Complex Rehab Technology and Durable Medical Equipment medical billing is required.
Experience:
1-2 years verifiable management / supervisory experience over medical billing staff or medical billing department Possess 5
years verifiable experience in Complex Rehab Technology medical billing to Private Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid; Experience billing Complex Rehab Technology and Durable Medical Equipment is required.
Able to function as a polite and cooperative team member with a positive attitude.
Computer and electronic billing systems experience required.
Able to work independently and efficiently.
On Call:
