General
Summary:

Work closely with marketing/sales to determine fesability and pricing of special design requests (SDR s) Will support assist manufacutring with production of SDR s to ensure sucessful completeion.
Will work on the creation of new designs and the redesign of existing products to complement and enhance product offerings and continually improve quality, minimize production costs and sustain a competitive advantage in the air movement and control industry.
Specialized skills for these individuals are required at this level.
Areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to:
electrical circuits, controls, airmovement, DFX/DFM, or CAD/Inventor.

Principal Duties &
Responsibilities:

  • Develop new product designs and redesigns in coordination with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and customers
  • Independent judgment must be exercised frequently
  • May participate with agencies associated with certifying products (AMCA, UL, etc.
    )
  • Develops best practices and creates procedures for CAD design requirements
  • Creates and maintains drawing files (CAD, PDF and other documentation)
  • Provides leadership, training, and direction to other designers
  • Facilitates the transition from design into production, including any necessary shop training and information required for implementing new or changed designs
  • Particular emphasis is placed on the procedures and processes required to provide accurate information to the shop floor
  • Participates in the standardization of SDR products, parts, and details
  • May be responsible for the development of parametric designs and variant configuration
  • Provide technical consultation internally to sales and marketing personnel and externally to customers
  • Develops bill of materials and translation documents related to new or changed designs
  • Review, along with purchasing personnel, the selection and specification of purchased component parts for product designs
  • Participate in the prototyping and testing of new designs.
    May be required to set up and run test equipment
  • Maintain close contact with the shop floor.
    Listen to the problems and ideas.
    Prioritize and pursue the most important concerns.
    Responsible for resolving issues as they arise
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation of design changes and SDR requests
  • Visit job sites to review installation and/or design problems and make a determination as to the best way to resolve the situation.
  • Participate in value engineering or process improvement projects to continually improve the cost efficiency of design and manufacturing processes
  • Manage multiple projects in accordance with predetermined completion dates
  • May have direct reports

Job
Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical Associates degree in Mechanical Desgin or Similar.
  • Between 2-3 years of work experience is required.
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD and Inventor Preferred).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
