Electrical Designer I

Overview:
Merrick & Company is looking for an Electrical Designer I in our Tulsa, OK, Greenwood Village, CO, or Richmond, VA offices.
The position of Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing power systems primarily for Heavy industrial facilities, Oil, Gas & Chemical projects.
This positions responsibilities include complete electrical designs performed at the drawing level.
Assists Project Engineer with drafting responsibilities and some design.
After an initial training period, this position has the possibility of being hybrid - part time in the office and part time from home.

Scope/Key Responsibilities Application of Knowledge of Building Systems (Conceptual Design):
Growing knowledge of codes and standards including but not limited to:
NFPA 70, 72, 101, 110, 780; UL 96A; ASHRAE 90.
1; and Building Assists the Lead Electrical Engineer or Senior Engineer with working with building/facility owner to ensure that the appropriate systems/products are utilized in their Lighting design, system types, and understanding of the following concepts:
Various lighting and lamp applications, Color temperatures, lighting rules, circuiting and control.
Emerging design of power distribution, panelboard schedules, grounding/protection designs.
Knowledge of the application of emergency systems, legally required systems and optional standby systems.
Documentation of calculations, reflecting code compliance of lighting calculations, power load calculations, and voltage drop calculations.
Fire alarm design, telecommunications design (knowledge of EIA/TIA standards), CCTV system design and intrusion detection system design.

A growing knowledge of the EIA/TIA Design:
Ensures that there are complete and accurate construction Able to utilize and manage design Provide Quality Control reviews for self-performed designs and designs by others.
Construction Support:
Problem solving for field oversight including Requests for Information (RFI).
Shop drawing/Submittal.
Field inspections and reports.
Project Management:
Monitors work performed by the assigned designers and Ensures that all project internal and external comments and markups are incorporated into the projects design documents and Profitability/Planning/Scheduling:
Monitors allocated resources to ensure that the work performed is within project estimates.
Works with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure that project schedule will be met, and complete documents are provided for each submission.
Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Zero (0) to four (4) years of experience electrical designing and drafting.
Canidadates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements Requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted.
May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
