JOB SUMMARY
Under supervision of the Site Director, responsible for the total classroom operation per Federal Head Start Performance Standard 1304.21 and any additional standard referring to classroom activity. Provides day-to-day task supervision of assigned Teacher Assistant(s) and is responsible for involving the Teacher Assistant(s) in planning and execution of daily class room activities.

Comply with the education content mandates of the Head Start Performance Standards, program assessment, and work plans.
Administer Ages and Stages Questionnaires for initial developmental screening.
Utilize Creative Curriculum software to track each child's ongoing developmental skill level in the eight domains as required by the Head Start Performance Standards.
Utilize Conscious Discipline theory application to assist with classroom management.
Provide high quality care in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
Work cooperatively with all CAP employees, Family Support personnel, volunteers and collaborative partners.
Build and maintain good parent/teacher relationships to encourage parent involvement.
Attend 6 out of 9 parent meetings during the school year.
Conduct at least two home visits and parent conferences, per child, within the allotted time period.
Participate in Family Child Review meetings once a month or as required.
Develop a daily schedule and weekly lesson plans based on observations, parental input, and developmentally appropriate practice.
Develop goals utilizing individualization form to meet each child's developmental needs.
Complete required documentation including, but not limited to: Monthly Reports, Attendance, InKind, Meal Count, Family Contacts, and Accident Injury Reports.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Attend pre-service, in-service, and other workshops that may include over-night and out-of-area travel as requested or required by Early Childhood Program management.
Meet Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC accreditation standards and DHS licensing requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
Works under the direct supervision of Site Director and the Master Teacher. Coordinates the work of classroom staff and volunteers. No supervisory responsibility.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must have proven successful interpersonal relationship skills to maintain effective and satisfactory working relationships with intra-department and inter-department staff, vendors, clients, visitors, and contractors. Ability to follow oral and written instructions with ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively. Must be able to accurately audit records and ensure compliance with written or oral guidelines. Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure. Must maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or Bachelors Degree in Family Relations/Child Development or a closely related education based discipline with 6 college courses that equal 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education. Experience working with infant, toddler or pre-school children. Position Preference: Masters Degree.
OTHER
Classroom position with some local travel (exposure to normal traffic hazards). Work requires bending, stooping, lifting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, stretching, pushing and pulling throughout the day. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Regular and reliable attendance required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
