This position will be 1st or 2nd shift.
Mission:
Supplies customers with standard sized spherical fittings, 24 and under, within 48 hours of order placement. This cell, which will produce only these parts, consists of a computer work station for customer service communication, a horizontal milling machine, weld station, paint booth and grinder.
Responsibilities:
Multiple times a day, initiates and completes a computer software review of orders entered for spherical fittings.
Considers priorities, backlog and capacity and creates a work list.
Working from blueprints, sketches, specifications and oral instructions, makes set-ups and operates a a horizontal milling machine, weld station, paint booth and grinder and a bridge crane for lifting and moving of parts. Utilizes lifting devices and fixturing to limit physical lifting effort to 50 lbs.
Maintains process integrity and flow.
Completes necessary forms such as standard work, tool records, routing changes, NCR's.
Performs inspection on all jobs.
Makes Continuous Improvement a part of every work day.
Maintains clean, orderly cell area ensuring that TDW HSE standards are maintained.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
High school diploma or equivalent and 3
years of experience in welding, machining and deburring.
Ability to read blueprints, sketches and specifications. Ability to perform own set-ups and work to drawing tolerances in a cellular.
Knowledge of welding machines, torches, positioners, cranes and assorted hand tools. Must be MIG and TIG certified.
Knowledge of shop mathematical computations, charts, tables, standard data and equipment manuals.
Familiarity with or the ability to learn TDW order entry, material flow, BOM, Inventory and Shipping systems.
Periodic lifting of 50 lbs maximum required to be performed in compliance with TDW safety regulations.
Understanding of interrelationships of capacity, priority, load, and delivery dates.
